One of my fave sports Romance series
I have been so guarded about handing out five stars this year but it would’ve been CRIMINAL to not give this book all the stars it deserves!!!!! Happ...Show more
Stephanie Archer is a go to author of mine for a good sports romance - more specifically ice hockey romance! Here’s my spoiler free review of her most recent release - and possibly my favourite release of hers !
Mr Alexai Volkov ladies and gentlemen!
Im not often a fan of enemies to loves in contemporary romance...however Stephanie Archer hit the nail on the head with these two characters.
The hatred comes from a place of vulnerability, these characters both have their own unique struggles but somehow find eachother amidst it all.
With individual reasons, both characters find themselves in desperate need of marriage. Specifically the legal security that can bring to them. Despite their obvious disdain for eachother, they come to an agreement that allows them both to benefit but under no circumstances will they fall in love.......as if!
I felt really connected to these characters really early on. I felt invested from the start, a feeling i get so rarely in contemporary romance. There has to be a skill in presenting two characters being awful to eachother, believably awful, and still have us readers screaming through the pages for them to just fall in love!
I would genuinley read Stephanie Archers shopping list at this point! Gloves Off was a masterpiece and I cant wait to see what she has in store for us next!
